- 4 catfish fillets (about 6 oz each, 170 g)
- 1 cup cornmeal (120 g)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60 g)
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk (15 ml)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
- Dip each catfish fillet into the egg mixture, then coat with the cornmeal mixture.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the coated fillets in a single layer.
- Lightly spray the tops of the fillets with cooking spray.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes, flip the fillets, and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the catfish in buttermilk for 30 minutes before coating.
- Adjust spices according to your heat preference.
