- 2 lbs (900 g) pork shoulder
- 1 cup (240 ml) BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) black pepper
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Mix together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the pork shoulder with the spice mixture until evenly coated.
- Place the pork in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
- Cook in the preheated oven for about 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and shred the pork using two forks. Toss the shredded pork with additional BBQ sauce if desired and serve.
Notes
- For best results, marinate the pork overnight with the spice mixture.
- Serve on buns with coleslaw for a delicious sandwich.
