- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lb (450 g) spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Serve spaghetti topped with the bolognese sauce and garnished with fresh basil leaves.

- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or a plant-based meat alternative.
- Let the sauce simmer longer for a deeper flavor.
