Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk (240 ml)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar (50 g)
- 8 slices of thick bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Place the coated bread onto the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Add more butter as needed for each batch, and serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
- For extra fluffiness, let the bread soak in the egg mixture for a few minutes.
- Try using brioche or challah for a richer flavor.
