- 1 lb (450 g) sea scallops
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
- 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the scallops in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and opaque.
- Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and add butter and garlic, sautéing until garlic is fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice and return the scallops to the skillet to coat with the sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Make sure to dry the scallops thoroughly for a nice sear.
- Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking.
