- 4 boneless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
- 1 cup (240 ml) Marsala wine
- 1 cup (240 ml) chicken broth
- 8 oz (225 g) cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the chicken breasts on both sides.
- Place the browned chicken in the slow cooker and add the onions, garlic, mushrooms, Marsala wine, chicken broth, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- If you want a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water and stir into the sauce 30 minutes before the cooking time is up.
- Serve hot, spooning the sauce over the chicken.

- Serve with pasta or rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
- You can add spinach or kale for extra nutrition.
