- 1 cup (150 g) dried navy beans, soaked overnight

- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In the slow cooker, combine the diced ham, soaked navy beans, onion, carrots, celery, and garlic.
- Pour in the chicken broth, then add thyme, black pepper, bay leaf, and salt.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until beans are tender.
- Remove the bay leaf, adjust seasoning if necessary, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of vinegar just before serving.
- This soup freezes well; store in airtight containers for future meals.
