- 3 lbs (1.36 kg) beef chuck roast
- 4 cups (960 ml) beef broth
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 3 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- In a hot skillet, sear the beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Place the vegetables in the slow cooker and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add the seared beef on top of the vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the meat is tender.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious pot roast.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a bay leaf to the broth.
- Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
